Kansas City Doll Competition 2004, DragonCon in Atlanta 2005 and Collinsville Archon 2005
My very first doll competition!! 2004 in Kansas City. What a story that was! We took the train and ended up being transferred to a bus!! All pieces had to be in by 3pm that day and we were a couple of hours late! The cab ended up taking us to the wrong place and we walked to the right building. I cried like a baby from the time I realized we weren't going to make it on time to get in!!! But! When we arrived and they heard what had happened they allowed my pieces in and then I cried from the relief! The next morning my husband rushed in ahead to look at the dolls and met me half way with big tears in his eyes because I had second place ribbons on both pieces! It was such a special moment in my life!!!
Then there was DragonCon in Atlanta 2005! What an amazing place to be! You would never believe the sites we saw there! But we had an amazing time for four wonderful days! I had ten pieces in the art show and sold two of them! I was so thrilled! I wish I could have gone back last year but there was no way to have enough pieces made to make the trip. I hope to make it again this year or next so if you are there look for me!!
Collinsville, Illinois was the place for Archon later in 2005. I displayed my work in their art show as well. I had a great time and met some wonderful people!
The first two pictures are of my display at Archon in Collinsville, Illinois
